As the owner of Tranquil Lake Yoga & Wellness, Megan Lake-Smith's teaching philosophy is to provide  a peaceful, welcoming environment in her studio, inviting people from all walks of life . Megan loves to create inclusive wellness experiences for her clients, urging them to come as they are . Megan's areas of expertise include Yoga Sculpt, Adaptive Yoga, and Vinyasa Yoga. 
Megan completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at the Yoga & Ayurveda Center in Bangor, PA, and her Group Fitness and Health Coaching certificates through the American Council on Exercise.

Lisa Jaegar

I found yoga in 2006 when I was experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety in my life. A friend recommended yoga to me. At the time I was seeking something that would help relieve my anxiety and also move my body physically. I didn’t realize at the time how much yoga would impact my life. As I practiced and learned more about the yoga philosophies, I fell in love and felt like I had found something that connected deeply to my soul and also helped my physical body. I had never experienced something that brought awareness to more than the physical body and I felt I had finally found something that relieved the anxiety and the effects of stress in my body. I decided I wanted to dive deeper and learn more. I earned my 200 hour certification in 2013 from Namaste Yoga. Since then I have had the opportunity to teach various classes and deepen my practice as well. Yoga has been a pathway for me to understand myself more and manage the stress in my life in a healthy way.  I am so grateful that I have an opportunity to share this healing, soulful practice with others. 


I have a wonderful husband and I am mom to a rescue dog named Bowie. When school is in session life is full and can get overwhelming and I am grateful for my mat to help me find balance. I believe it is so important to take time for yourself and enjoy your passions in life, although sometimes I need this advice most myself. In a world that is busy and demanding, yoga has allowed me to live a more present, peaceful, and thoughtful life.

Rick Bodeker is a 200 RYT and also a Pharmacist. Rick lives in Vermilion, Ohio, where he enjoys the Lake, the local parks, coaching sports and traveling. Rick's passion is to guide others through self awareness, allowing each student to be who they truly are. Rick's classes provide focus on breathing, anatomy, and exploring your own strengths , while honoring your body, mind, and spirit.

Holly Walker

Belly Dancing Instructor, Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor

Holly has her Associate's of Science in Sports and Fitness Management, and has worked in the fitness industry in various roles for the past 12 years. Her fitness journey truly began when she discovered belly dance at the age of 16. This discovery inspired Holly to learn as much as she could about health and fitness, and she has been learning ever since. Holly has taught a variety of classes, including belly dance, cardio sculpt, HIIT, and more. Her primary goal as an instructor is to help guide her students to the same rewards she has discovered on her journey in dance - self-love and acceptance, joy, and supportive, loving connection with other women. Tranquil Lake Studio has been such a perfect fit for these goals, as the Studio itself seems to exude all of these qualities.

Heidi Boone

Children's Yoga Instructor, Kindergarten Teacher

Heidi is a certified children's yoga instructor with the Kidding Around Yoga program (KAY). With 17 years of teaching experience at the elementary level, Heidi combines her classroom strategies and her love of yoga with children. She feels that yoga empowers children with self-regulating methods to live their best life.
When she is not teaching, Heidi enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys. Her hobbies include reading, being outside, and starting her day with a hot cup of coffee.

Alexis Destiny Sutton | 25 Years Young 
I found yoga in 2017 when I was overwhelmed with college classes studying long days for psychology/ Art Therapy. I needed something that would calm my mind from my busy day. A good friend of mine recommended meditation and taking a yoga class. I instantly fell deeply in love with the healing practice, continuing my journey to 2021 when I became a 200hrRYT. I was honored to take my teacher training at Yogaja Yoga Academy. 
My favorite classes to teach;
Vinyasa Flow & Pilates~ Sculpt Yoga 
I weight lift in the gym six days a week so I love a high energy class that keeps your body moving and mind at peace. 
I truly believe everyone can benefit from Yoga. Yoga is bliss, it helps you quiet your mind and connect with the present moment. My soul feels most alive when I’m doing what I love and caring for my mind and body. Yoga has enlightened me on a deep level to see the silver lining, a pathway to healing, Yoga is a way of life. Meditation is also something I hold very close to my heart. I wouldn’t be who I am today if I didn’t awaken to the beautiful benefits of meditation.
I recently moved to Vermilion with my boyfriend Ryan and our dog Stormi. The move has been an amazing adventure and led me to teach at Tranquil Lake Studio.

Jess is on a journey to promote wellness and help people live balanced and be mindful through Yoga, Reiki, guided meditations, gratitude practices, artistic modalities for self exploration, self-healing techniques and breathwork.
Jess has 20+ years of public school teaching experience as well as her Yoga RYT200 certification. Her other trainings & certifications include:

FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am brand new to Yoga. Which classes are suitable for me ?

This is a very common question, and we have a great answer for you ! If you're brand new, we recommend clearing out your schedule as much as possible, and purchasing our "Intro to Yoga " One Month Unlimited plan. This will allow you to try as many class styles and teachers as you like, with a minimal financial investment. We have found that every student is different, and will find unique classes and teachers that fit their life, regardless of level of experience. 

  • I am pregnant, recently had a baby, or recently had surgery or suffered an injury. Can I still attend yoga or fitness  class? 

Yes, you may still attend class. We recommend you get clearance from your physician, and start with our gentler classes, which are Tai Chi, Adaptive Yoga, Yoga 101, Belly Dancing for Fitness,  New Moon/Full Moon Yin, and All Levels Yin(ish). Nearly any class can be modified, as long as you listen to and honor your body 

  • Where are your classes located?

The Tranquil Lake Studio is located at 678 Grand St , Vermilion, Ohio 44089.We  are on the 1st floor , please enter through the front of the building and walk through Railway Barbershop to get to our studio. During the summer months, we also offer outdoor classes at local parks (please see the "Book A Class" tab for details)

  • Do I have to register Online, or do you take Drop-Ins?

We accept drop-ins but prefer that students register at ahead of time. This allows us to plan for our class sizes and permits the studio to run more smoothly. If you choose to drop-in, class cost will raise from $12 to $15.

We encourage you to  do everything online, including creating an account at https://www.tranquillakeyoga.com/ ,purchasing a class plan which is found at https://www.tranquillakeyoga.com/plans-pricing(this discounts the price you pay per class),and registering for individual classes at https://www.tranquillakeyoga.com/book-online. You can also choose to purchase a class plan in person at the studio, and instructors can assist in registering you for future classes. If you opt to have Instructors register you for class, We also ask that you check your emails, the website and/or our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/tranquillakeyoga/ prior to class to check for any changes to the class schedule. 

If you choose to drop -in (not schedule in advance at all) class cost is $15. For studio classes, you may pay with credit card, cash, PayPal paypal.me/TranquilLake ,  or Venmo (Venmo @Tranquil-Lake-Yoga).  If none of the payment options listed are available ,  we will collect your email and can invoice you for class.

  • What if I can't make it to class and I already registered? 

This can seem confusing but is actually fairly simple. The option to schedule, cancel, or reschedule any class is available on any computer or on our mobile app. If you choose to register online, we recommend that you download our mobile app AND create a log-in(to create a login, simply use your email and create a password). This allows you to register, cancel, and reschedule all of your classes, along with managing any class plans or memberships, at the touch of a button! 

  • To download the Tranquil Lake app on your mobile device, go to the App Store and download "Spaces by Wix" then enter  code WBRLLW.

  • If you have issues with the app or are experiencing technical difficulties, please call or text Megan at 440.506.2515. You may also email Megan at tranquil.lake.yoga@gmail.com. We are here to help you ! 

  • What do I need to bring to class?

The most important thing you can bring to any of our Yoga or Fitness Classes is an Open Mind. Every one of our nine teachers are kind, nurturing, and deeply focused on helping others. You will have a better class experience if you wear comfortable, layered clothing and bring water. For Tai Chi classes, we recommend flat shoes and loose, comfortable clothing. For Belly Dance and Yoga classes, comfortable, stretchy fabrics work nicely, but we honestly wouldn't care if you showed up in your PJ's! We have also stocked the studio with enough props for 11 students, so again, don't worry . If you don't own a yoga mat/blocks. straps, we have you covered. 

**For our outdoor summer  classes, you will need to bring your own mat(although a towel, blanket, or sheet will work) **

  • Should I eat or drink before class?

This is a great question. You always want to be hydrated, this will reduce the risk of injury and dehydration. We recommend you don't eat a full meal for about 3 hours before class, although light snacks are fine. With Many yoga poses, and aerobic activity in general, having a full stomach can be very uncomfortable. 

  • Do I need to be strong ,flexible, and in great shape to take yoga or fitness classes? 

The short answer is, absolutely not ! If you do have a solid practice at home, that's fantastic, we are honored to have you come to our studio. But we are also equally honored to be the place  you feel comfortable growing into that stronger, more flexible, more in shape version of You. And honestly, Yoga, Fitness, and Wellness is about so  much more then how we look. Our goal at Tranquil Lake is to help you Feel, Love, and Be, your very best self. The strength, energy, and  improved body tone are just nice bonuses. 

  • How does Tranquil Lake communicate class cancellations or changes ?

Another great question. If we need to move locations  (i.e. take our outdoor classes inside die to inclement weather, we will make a post on our Facebook and Instagram pages ,no later then 1hour prior to class start time. If our teachers experiences a last minute emergency, and we are unable to find a substitute, we will email or call all scheduled students to alert you of the cancellation, in addition to posting on our FB and IG pages. We highly recommend you check your email an hour prior to class start time to be updated on any changes.
